See who can find the wackiest item at one of Cache Valley’s oldest country stores. Smithfield Implement has everything from candy to random hand tools to stuffed chickens. And the customer service is known to be super friendly and helpful. After you give the prize to whoever finds the craziest item, head up to the Smithfield Canyon Campground for a bonfire and smores by the river. Don’t forget your roasting sticks and crazy prize.

19 – Enjoy The Animals At Zootah
This Albino Porcupine is waiting for you to visit him at Zootah. And you’ll find many other animals here including a Bald Eagle, Makaw, Peacock, and Caracal. Zootah is closed in the winter, except for Christmas-time when they put up Christmas lights. Tickets are $5.00, plus you’ll want to bring money for duck food. Crumb Brothers Artisan Bread is close by and would be an excellent place to pick up food for a picnic.

20 – Sleigh Ride At Hardware Ranch
Get your cozy winter clothes on and prepare to cuddle up to your sweatheart on a sleigh to view and feed the elk at Hardware Ranch. It’s a beautiful drive up Blacksmith Fork Canyon that takes you to the ranch. Other things to do here include mountain men demonstrations and elk-calling classes (for real). On your way home, enjoy some Salvadorian food at El Comal Salvadoreno. Their pupusas are phenomenal.

21 – Canoe on Tony Grove Lake
Take the scenic drive up Logan Canyon to gorgeous Tony Grove Lake. It’s a beautiful spot to canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. I know because I enjoyed doing this with my man when we were dating. There’s a walking trail around the lake, but the real fun is to explore the mountainside around the lake and look for sinkholes. (This is actually one of my husband’s favorite things to do in the area.) Bring a really good light to look in the sinkholes. My husband’s favorite is this headlamp.
(Update – I’ve heard that they’ve recently drained Tony Grove Lake for maintenance. Check before you go to make sure you can access it.)

22 – Soak At Crystal Hot Springs
My memory of Crystal Hot Springs is of my high school date ditching me here for a hot babe in a bikini, but chances are your date will go better. These Hot Springs are located 30 minutes outside of Logan in Honeyville, Utah, but the drive is worth it. You could also drive to Riverdale Resort in Preston, Idaho, or even further north to Lava Hot Springs. That drive will take 1 1/2 hours, but then after your soak you can go to Riverwalk Cafe, a fantastic Thai Restaurant in the town of Lava Hot Springs.

23 – Go Swing Dancing
Every date deserves to know if their partner’s line-dancing skills are in check. Lucky for you, Country Swing night happens at Cache Valley Fun Park every Wednesday night from 9 PM to midnight. Afterward, enjoy a late-night dinner (or early breakfast) at Denny’s, which is open 24 hours.

24 – Go Skiing at Beaver Mountain
Beaver Mountain is the place for you if you’re looking for a great place to enjoy the snow with your date. The resort has plenty of runs for all levels of skiers, and the scenery is gorgeous.

25 – See A Play Or Musical
The Ellen Eccles Theater is an ideal place to take a date. What could be more romantic than watching a beautiful play or musical together? The theater has beautiful murals on the walls, and the ceiling is intricately painted.
Round it out with dinner at Tortilleria La Fuenta, where you can get authentic Mexican food with homemade tortillas. Gorditas and Fish Tacos are a must-try here.

26 – Go Tubing At Cherry Peak
You and your date will love spending the day together tubing down the mountain at Cherry Peak in Richmond, UT. It’s just a few minutes north of Logan and the gorgeous snowy mountain scenery! (You can also ski here.)
After hitting the slopes, enjoy a burger, fry, and hot chocolate at the Cherry Peak Grill.

27 – Hike To The Wind Caves
My family did this hike a few years ago and loved it! It’s just a 2-mile hike to get to the top, but parts of the hike are steep, so it will take at least a couple of hours to do.
Be sure to bring a water bottle and start early in the morning if you are hiking in the summertime.
The wind caves are gorgeous as well as the views you get while hiking. You will have a great time taking pictures together when you reach the top.
The Wind Cave Hiking trail is about 5 miles up Logan Canyon near Guinavah Campground.
28 – Go Watersliding At Logan Aquatic Center
The Logan Aquatic Center has plenty to do, from swimming in the pool to going down the waterslides. You can also enjoy sunbathing on the deck. It’s a great way to spend a summer day or evening with your favorite person.

29 – Take A Yoga Class Together
On a recent trip to Logan, my daughter and I attended a Yoga class at Shanti Yoga Roots with family members. It was a highlight of our trip.
Afterward, we walked to Cafe Ibis for a delicious iced latte.

This trail follows the shoreline of the ancient Lake Bonneville. It gives you spectacular views of the Logan valley. It’s a little less than 2 miles if you start at Green Canyon and follow the dirt trail to First Dam.

A great coffee shop can provide the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable conversation. Fortunately, Logan is home to many excellent coffee shops, including Cafe Ibis and The Westside Coffee Company.
The Westside Coffee Company offers many delectable coffee drinks as well as a variety of breakfast and lunch options. (I highly recommend the Acai bowl and the Avocado Toast.)
Cafe Ibis has been cited as one of the best coffee shops in the America and you’ll understand why when you visit their quaint shop on Federal Avenue – one of the most charming spots in Logan.

I live in Logan and love all these great date ideas. Only thing I would ask is please do not feed bread to the ducks and geese at First Dam. It really is not good for them and there are signs all over down there asking people to please not feed them
